A VERY ACTIVE STUDENT LIFE ON CAMPUS
IAE Aix-Marseille encourages and supports student initiatives: student life is rich and dynamic!
Three associations allow students to get involved in various activities: festive, friendly, cultural, humanitarian, civic, sports, professional, and entrepreneurial! These projects promote integration, networking, responsibility, and professionalism while offering an opportunity to develop and practice project and team management skills!
Aix-Marseille University, local authorities, and IAE Aix-Marseille grant financial aid to support these activities.
Students' Office (BDE)
Led by an energetic team, the BDE coordinates projects and events that provide lasting memories of the time spent at IAE Aix-Marseille. In addition to the integration weekend, the ski weekend, and the numerous regular thematic evenings, there are also culture and gastronomy evenings, humanitarian initiatives (blood donation, Sidaction, and first aid training), and international events (international lunches and cultural visits around the region).
Sports Office (BDS)
The BDS mission is to promote sports and bring students together through events and sports meetings. It organizes students’ participation in events such as the IAE French Cup. Our community also vibrates to the rhythm of leisure sports such as pom-pom and pétanque tournaments. Hikes are organized to the summit of Sainte Victoire.
In addition to leisure sports, the Aix-Marseille University sports association (AS AMU-IAE) prepares students for interuniversity competitions in volleyball, rugby, basketball, and soccer.
Propulse - Junior IAE Aix-Marseille
Propulse is an association operating on the model of a consulting agency managed by 25 volunteer master’s program students. Its objective is to prepare IAE Aix-Marseille students for their future careers while assisting companies in the region around five areas of expertise (communication, human resources, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship). Paid assignments allow students to apply their skills in a professional context. The innovative abilities, youthful spirit, and international profile of our students, combined with the support and management of the Propulse team throughout each assignment ensure, the delivery of quality projects. TO EAT AND SLEEP
IAE Aix-Marseille is located near a large student city, Aix-en-Provence (one out of four inhabitants is a student), which has all the infrastructure necessary for life during studies and leisure.
In Puyricard, a CROUS university restaurant welcomes IAE students on campus. Aix-en-Provence has several university restaurants.
Public (10 CROUS residences) and private student residences are listed on the Adele.org website.
The city of Aix-en-Provence organizes an annual housing day in mid-July for students (more information on the Aix étudiant website).
Housing offers are available on the Aix-Marseille University housing portal (Owners can post their offers on this portal!).
Students must submit a student social file to the CROUS between January 15 and April 30 to apply for housing in a university residence. This is valid even if they are not eligible for a grant.
Visale (ex Clé - Caution Locative Etudiante Lokaviz) :
The Visale subsidy succeeds the Clé of the Crous concerning the assistance to the guarantee of the housing of the young people to be carried out before the installation of the contract of hiring. The Visale guarantee is applied for online: once this is done, the tenant can count on Action Logement to take charge of the rent and the rental charges of his accommodation in case of default. However, this assistance does not play the role of home insurance! Young students can run a simulation with an online quote to find the insurance they want for their accommodation. Good to know, Visale is limited to a rent of 1 500€ in Paris and 1 300€ in the rest of the country for a maximum of 36 monthly payments. Once the keys have been handed over, students must contact the different actors linked to electricity, water, ADSL or fiber optics so that everything works as soon as they move in.
The Pays d'Aix, a heritage and an art of living that have always been appreciated
IAE Aix-Marseille is in the south of France in Aix-en-Provence, which is an attractive and dynamic student city in the heart of a region of tourism and culture with a great climate.
Marseille, a thousand-year-old city resolutely turned towards the sea
IAE Aix-Marseille benefits from the proximity of France’s second largest city, Marseille, which is a major Mediterranean port and a major economic center in the country’s south. The Aix-Marseille area is served by an international airport, two TGV stations (with Paris just three hours away), and a dense motorway network.
Provence, land of innovation
Provence is one of the top destinations in France for direct foreign investment. It is home to renowned companies in leading-edge sectors, including microelectronics, information technology, and aeronautics. In recent years, large-scale projects have brought a significant number of new jobs to the area:
- ITER, an international research and development project in the field of nuclear fusion.
- Euroméditerranée, an urban renewal and economic development project in Marseille with a European dimension, focused on maritime services and activities.
- The Port of Marseille-Fos, which has ambitious expansion projects.
- The region received French Tech accreditation in 2015 in recognition of its ecosystem conducive to innovation, with a dense fabric of start-ups, SMEs, and companies at the forefront of their fields.
