Four factors come into play in the selection process
- The quality of the application.
Make sure your cover letter is polished and that your career plan is coherent. - Results obtained on a management aptitude test (TAGE-MAGE, IAE Score Message-SIM or GMAT or GRE).
- English language test results : TOEIC, TOEFL iBT or IELTS
If the applicant submits a GMAT or GRE, the English test is no longer mandatory.
You don't need to already have your test results to open the online application. You will be able to update your file up to the closing date, enter scores and download certificates as you receive them. - Performance at the 20-40 minute interview.
Entry into 1st year of MSc (year 4): you are in the process of validating or have validated 180 ECTS - Bac +3
- Bachelor's degree obtained at university, regardless of specialization/discipline, or equivalent
- DUT + an additional year at a foreign university (DUETI, bachelor)
- Bachelor degree Bac +3 from a private business school
Direct entry into 2nd year of MSc (year 5): you are in the process of validating or have validated 240 ECTS - Bac +4 and above
- Bachelor's degree obtained at university +60 ECTS at Master's level obtained at university or abroad (Master 1 level), whatever your specialty/discipline
- Bachelor's degree from a private business school + an additional year at a university or private business school
- Engineering degree
- Master "Grande École" from a private business school
The diversity of backgrounds and degrees, as well as the geographical origins of IAE students, create a rich diversity within the classes.
TAGE-MAGE test
The TAGE-MAGE is a Test d'Aptitude aux Etudes de Gestion (Management Studies Aptitude Test) with sessions held in different cities (Aix-en-Provence, Grenoble, Montpellier, Paris...) throughout the year. The TAGE-MAGE can be taken twice a year, once per semester. It is advisable to take the test as early as possible, and in all cases to send your application without waiting for notification of the test result, as the result will be sent directly to the IAE. To register for a session in France or abroad, visit the TAGE-MAGE website. Candidates who took the GMAT less than three years ago are exempt from the test.

SCORE IAE-MESSAGE test
A unique test of aptitude for university studies in management, the IAE-Message score is used to apply for more than 302 university courses in this field. It can be taken at a number of test centers in France and abroad, and several sessions are organized. To register for a session in France or abroad, visit the iae-message website.
IAE Aix is a test-taking center for this test (registration on the iae-message website).
TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS tests
Companies expect their employees in management positions to have a good command of English. A good level of English is also very important for studies at IAE Aix, as many courses, seminars and e-learning modules are offered in English. Similarly, to take full advantage of the school's multicultural environment, you need to be at ease with English. You can find more information on how to take the tests on the dedicated websites (we will receive your results if you specify our IAE Aix school code: 0651).
GMAT
The Graduate Management Admission Test is a standardized English-language test designed to measure skills deemed important for the study of management with a view to pursuing a Master's degree.
GRE
GRE is the admission test most widely recognized by higher education institutions and business schools worldwide. The test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical analysis and analytical writing skills: skills that are not tied to a specific field of study, but are essential for everyone.
The orientation and admissions team will guide you through the application process, including student visa applications. International candidates, free-movers, are required to submit their applications via our online admission portal.
Exchange students from partner universities apply directly through their school's international office.
On receipt of the admission letter, all students receive a welcome pack designed to prepare you for your stay in France.
Campus France procedure
Students from the following countries are affected by the "Etudes en France" dual procedure. They are invited to submit an applicaton on the Campus France platform in addition to their application file at IAE Aix platform.
Since March 31, 2021 and the implementation of Decree no. 2021-360 on the employment of a foreign employee, the legal framework now specifies that foreign applicants can follow a Master's-level course under an apprenticeship contract from the first year of residence.
VISA, residence permit and work permit applications are now processed via an online platform.
