Wouldyou like to submit a job offer and consult our students' CVs? Visit our JOBTEASER online platform.

First, create your company profile. After validation by our corporate relations department, you'll have access to the job offers and CV thèque sections to post job offers and consult the CVs of our students.

Our 800 or so students represent a richly diverse pool of talent for you to choose from: a diversity of skills (reflecting the wide variety of our specialized programs), a diversity of profiles (engineers, lawyers, scientists, graduates in management, economics, languages and even more atypical backgrounds such as philosopher and art historian, to name but a few), a diversity of personal and professional projects, a diversity of cultures and nationalities (30% international students).

If work-study programs have been an ongoing strategy at IAE Aix-Marseille for more than 25 years, it's because of our vision:

  • For companies, work-study programs represent an opportunity to participate in the collective effort to train the younger generation.
  • For students, work-study programs provide access to a first employment contract over 1 or 2 years.
  • For the IAE, the work-study program strengthens ties with the company and proximity to its managers.

Companies should make the most of work-study programs as part of their CSR approach, since they represent an investment in youth employment and help to combat student job insecurity. At Master's level, work-study programs can act as a real social elevator.

IAE Aix-Marseille can help you recruit work-study students

At IAE Aix-Marseille, a dedicated team is on hand to support you from the first contact to the signing of your contract.

  • Work-study programs

All our programs are open to sandwich courses.

  • The work-study calendar

As its name suggests, the alternance program involves a timetable punctuated by periods in the company and periods at the IAE. We pay close attention to the relevance of our schedules and their alignment with the constraints and expectations of both the company and the student. However, we are aware that no single schedule can fully meet all these constraints and expectations.

The work-study schedule we are proposing has definite advantages for the company:

    • as the apprenticeship contract can start on June 3, 2024 and the professional training contract on August 3, 2024, the work-study program can begin with an initial period on the job before the start of training on September 2, 2024
    • if the contract is signed before December 30, 2024, the company will be eligible for €6,000 in state aid under the 1 Jeune 1 solution scheme.
    • the pace enables assignments to be carried out on a national scale, while the training takes place in Aix-en-Provence
    • the work-study program allows for greater commitment on the part of the student to project management or more strategic assignments
  • The regulatory and legal environment for work-study programs

Can my company recruit an apprentice?

Apprenticeship contracts are open to :

    • French (SIRET) and Monegasque private-sector employers
    • public-sector employers
    • on secondment (ETT - temping agency)

Professionalization contracts are open to :

    • French (SIRET) and Monegasque private-sector employers
    • on secondment (ETT - intérim)

How much does a work-study contract cost?

    • The cost of a work-study contract is twofold for the company:
    • participation in financing the training;
    • the cost of remunerating the apprentice.

Since 2020, France Compétences has set the general framework for the company's contribution to the financing of the work-study student's training. In line with this framework, we work with our CFA (CFA Epure Méditerranée) to set an amount for our various training courses. It is this amount that will be covered by your OPCO (in general, these training costs are decided in the spring for the following year). The table below shows the different costs, depending on the Master's degree concerned, which have been set for 2021-2022.

    Cost of work-study contracts
Master in Strategic Management Master in Business Administration
    Apprenticeship contract 12000€ 12000€
    Professionalization contract 17€ per hour x 668h 17€ per hour x 653h

Note: companies may be billed for the remainder of the cost, depending on the amount of their OPCO's contribution.

In addition to the cost, the company benefits from a number of financial advantages under the work-study contract:

    • General reduction in social security contributions
    • alternating work-study students are not counted in the company's workforce
    • Exemption from end-of-contract indemnities
    • Financial assistance for RQTH (Reconnaissance de la qualité de travailleur handicapé) alternation students.

Finally, as part of its "1 young person, 1 solution" plan, the French government has set up an exceptional aid scheme for the recruitment of apprentices, for all contracts signed:

    • 6000 € for private companies
    • 3000 € for public companies

    How are training contributions billed?

Invoicing is handled by our CFA as follows:

    • Professional contracts are invoiced by the hour per quarter.
    • The apprenticeship contract is invoiced as follows:
      • 40% on 12/31/2024,
      • 30% on 03/31/2025 and
      • 30% on 06/30/2025

What are the key dates in a work-study contract?

    There are several key dates:

    • training dates
      • for a 1-year contract: from 02/09/2024 to 30/09/2025
      • for a 2-year contract: from 09/02/2024 to 09/30/2026
    • dates of company training periods
    • the contract signature date is free
Apprenticeship contract: between 03/6/2024 and 01/12/2024
Professionalization contract: between 03/08/2024 and 02/10/2024
    • Contract start and end dates are shown in the table below
    Work-study contract dates
Contract start date Contract end date

IAE Aix-Marseille supports you in monitoring your work-study students

Our teaching and administrative teams are on hand throughout the work-study contract to support both the student and the company.

This support is first and foremost pedagogical in nature: we make sure that the work-study student is properly integrated and progresses in his or her company, we monitor the completion of his or her assignments, and we maintain a close relationship with the company tutor. This pedagogical support is mainly provided by the pedagogical tutor, who is a teacher at IAE Aix-Marseille. Teaching tutors are assigned before the start of the first in-company period.

The student's program director may also be involved in this pedagogical support.

Administrative support is provided by work-study coordinator Mireille Gémin, focusing mainly on questions relating to the contract.

Since 2020, we have implemented a paperless work-study student handbook, giving continuous, shared access to the main elements of the work-study contract. Our CFA pilots this electronic system, using the Cactus application.

Finally, at the end of their work-study contract, each apprentice is required to write a dissertation, which is defended in front of his or her tutors. For both the company and the tutor, this dissertation provides an opportunity for shared reflection and analysis of a problem proposed by the student in agreement with his or her tutor, and validated by the teaching tutor.

Every year, IAE Aix-Marseille signs over 800 internship agreements in France and abroad. All our programs include internships lasting from 3 to 6 months, at the beginning, during and at the end of the course.

IAE Aix-Marseille helps you recruit your trainees

At IAE Aix-Marseille, a dedicated team is on hand to support you from the first contact to the signing of your internship agreement.

  • The legal and regulatory environment of the internship

How do I pay an intern?

Internships lasting more than 2 months must be remunerated, whatever the status of the host organization. The length of the internship is determined by the actual time spent on the job. The minimum amount of compensation is set at 15% of the hourly social security ceiling, or €3.90 per hour as of 01/01/2020.

How do I draw up an internship agreement?

Hosting an intern is governed by legal rules. The internship agreement sets out the obligations of the parties (establishment, host organization, student) in accordance with current legislation and regulations. Signing an internship agreement is therefore mandatory: no internship can take place without one. It must be signed by all parties before the internship actually begins. Any internship begun before all signatures have been obtained is illegal, with all the consequences that this entails, particularly in terms of not being covered by work accident insurance.

Internships have a maximum duration of six months (including any extensions). The duration is calculated pro rata to the trainee's actual time with the host organization.

For the purposes of calculating the maximum duration of 6 months, the trainee's actual presence at the host organization is calculated as follows:

    • 7 hours (continuous or not) equivalent to 1 day
    • 22 days (continuous or not) equals one month

Thus, the maximum total duration of 6 months is equivalent to 924 hours or 132 days.

Any effective modification requires the signature of an amendment.

Where can I find out more about the internship agreement?

For further information, please contact the Career Center at stages@iae-aix.com.

  • Submit an internship offer

You can communicate your internship offers and consult the CVs of our students on our JOBTEASER online platform.

Discover the tutorial for creating your company profile, consulting the cv-library and posting your job offers.
  • Key stages of the internship agreement

The student creates an internship agreement in our IPro software as soon as the content of the assignment has been pedagogically validated by the training manager.

This agreement is then validated administratively by the Career Center to verify the legal framework; it is sent to you by the student, already signed by our management.

The student returns it to us signed by all parties.

If you wish to use your own model agreement, this is also possible. In this case, you will give it to the student.

IAE Aix-Marseille can help you keep track of your trainees

Our teaching and administrative teams are on hand throughout the internship to support both the student and the company.

This support is first and foremost pedagogical: each intern has a pedagogical tutor who is an IAE Aix-Marseille teacher. The program director remains available to get involved if necessary in this pedagogical support.

Administrative support is provided by our Corporate Relations and Continuing Education Department, focusing mainly on regulatory issues and agreements.
