Story of an international student with an atypical background

Choosing IAE Aix-Marseille is choosing excellence, diversity and internationalisation. Diversity is found in the willingness of IAE to recruit each year atypical and international profiles in its programmes. Joseph Alirani, student in MSc 2 General Management (Full English Track) (class 2020-2021), is the perfect example. He presents us his career path:

“My name is Joseph ALIRANI, I am 24 years old student in the program of General Management Full English Track at IAE Aix-Marseille graduate School of Management.

I believe that everyone has dreams, but there are those who are satisfied with dreaming of them and there are those who make them with their own hands, things don't come according to your dreams, but according to your pursuit of them. As an architect, I decided to draw and implement my dreams myself.

From high school, the dream of being a builder accompanies me day after day, and the desire to know more about construction increases every single day. With the idea of becoming an architect, I then joined the faculty of fine and applied arts at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik Lebanon where I obtained a master's degree in architecture. With this program, I acquired a solid foundation in construction and site planning, the use of materials and especially the architectural design and thinking of an ecological future.

Much more than that, throughout different internships and my professional experience that have marked my university career makes me aware of the new direction that I want to give to my career. As a coordinator between the different teams in the site or as a planner of tasks and missions during the different phases of construction, the passion of being a project manager is born inside me so I decided to turn it into reality.

After a board search, I found the Master degree of General Management at Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management the best choice for me, the school gave me a prestigious opportunity to broaden my knowledge in order to promote skills needed to become a successful Project Manager.

Today, I am doing my internship at Direction et Exploitation du Patrimoine Immobilier et Logistique d’Aix-Marseille Université pole travaux as Project Manager assistant with a mission to pilot several works on the campus located at Timone Marseille and to assess the progress of the worksites with the schedule proposed by the project manager where I apply the program acquired within IAE.”
