Brand Heritage conference 2016

A symposium hosted by a francophone university for the first time

CERGAM and Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management-IAE organized on the 18-20 of April 2016 the 6th International Symposium on Corporate Heritage hosting about 20 international academics. This symposium gathers every year academics specialized on companies’ use of their own heritage. Professors from prestigious universities such as Brunel University (UK), Harvard Business School (US), Hanken School of Economics (Finland), Boston College (US), Lund School of Economics and Management (Sweden) regularly attend those events. This is the first time this symposium is hosted by a francophone university.

Many companies make use of their heritage to differentiate themselves from their competitors. Being a reference to an inspirational founder, signaling an inherited know-how, or simply stating “from…” on a product… Making an asset for the future out of the past: this is the practice the symposium focused on.
