Accreditations

AMGSM-IAE has been EQUIS-accredited since 1999

The EQUIS label is awarded by EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), the European accreditation institution for business schools. The EFMD is based in Brussels and has 800 members (schools, universities and firms) in 81 countries. Its influence clearly reaches beyond Europe. Its mission is to promote best practice in information, research and operations in management studies. Schools that apply for accreditation are assessed by a team of international experts who examine not only their overall activities and programmes, but also their research, their policies for graduate insertion on the job market, their international strategies, distance learning schemes, continuing education offer and social responsibility. The accreditation label is awarded to schools that ensure academic excellence, tight connections with the business world, robust research potential and a wide international outlook. The EQUIS accreditation ensures that AMGSM-IAE is recognised as one of the world’s best business schools. It confims its position as a centre of excellence in international management training and guarantees its high academic and pedagogical standards.

AMGSM-IAE also holds the AMBA accreditation

AMBA (Association of MBAs) is a British institution that rates the quality of MBAs and Master’s degrees. AMBA provides accreditation to programmes while EQUIS accredits schools. More than 200 business schools in 80 countries hold the AMBA label. The 5-year label is awarded to a programme and not to the establisment. For a successful AMBA application, MBAs or Master’s programmes have to be professionally-oriented. One of the label’s major criteria is that training offers must meet firms’ needs. This is notably assessed through interviews with employers.
Other determining criteria include teaching balance between theory and practice, a transcultural pedagogical approach and the capacity of the school or the university to train international managers. The AMBA label provides evidence of high-standard training and of close connections with the business world. It also indicates that students enjoy job placement services (alumni network, online job offers, etc.). The IAE’s Executive MBA (Part-Time and Fast Track), Management Masters and Euro*MBA are all AMBA-accredited. The label testifies to international recognition of the very high standards of programmes.

AMGSM-IAE is ranked by The Financial Times

The Financial Times World Ranking of the best Masters in Management released in September 2016 confirms AMGSM-IAE as a top Business School. The Management School of Aix-Marseille University gained 9 places this year. AMGSM-IAE is now 46th internationally and in the Top 15 of the 24 listed French schools.

The Financial Times Ranking originality lies in its detailed analysis of alumni career paths, graduates are directly interviewed three years after graduation: what support the school offers in internships and job search, what type of careers pursued just after leaving school, and wage levels.These issues are important for students when they make study choices, and  are not always addressed in the charts of the French press.

The Financial Times publishes two essential world rankings every year:

  • the Best Masters in Management (September);
  • the Best Management Schools (March).

Until 2015, AMGSM-IAE was the only French public Business School in the ranking. This year Paris Dauphine is also present in the charts.

The key points highlighted by the FT Ranking for IAE Aix-Marseille :

  • the School recorded one of the three best progressions in the world ranking alongside Stockholm Business School and Nova School of Business and Economics in Portugal.
  • With respect to tuition fees, AMGSM-IAE is in the top 5 for best returns on investment in the world and N°1 in France.
  • The employability rate of graduates after 3 months is excellent: the school is ranked 10th in France and among the top 30 worldwide.
  • Salaries for graduates after three years are among the best in France, the school holds 15th place with 50k average annual gross salary.
